Breakfast

THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY

When you wake up in the morning, your body has been fasting for as many as 12-15 hours. It needs fuel in order to work at peak efficiency.

THE EFFECTS OF A SKIPPED BREAKFAST ARE:

*short attention span

*Lack of alertness

*Low blood sugar

*Decreased work productivity

*In school children: more social and emotional problems and poorer grades.

A GOOD BALANCED BREAKFAST WILL HELP:

*Supply energy when you need it most

*Prevent irritability and fatigue

*Provide 1/3 to 1/2 of the day's total nutritional requirements

*Help control weight by preventing mid-morning hunger

*Stop the urge to snack

*Stabilize blood sugar levels

*Improve efficiency and safety

*Promote better attitudes and scholastic achievements
