Mental Health

By: Wendy A Belanger

Here on this website we talk a lot about health. Something we haven't talked about as much is mental health. Everyone has troubles of one kind or another.  It's not so much what life throws at us as it is how we respond to it.

We have a God who can turn trouble and tragedy into triumph. Just like an oyster must put up with a constant irritation to produce a valuable pearl, we, with God in us, can turn troubles into blessings.

We cannot experience good physical health if we don't have an attitude of gratitude. God can give us a sense of wellbeing as we follow the rules for good health, have a merry heart, and commune with Him, The Life Giver, daily.   Listen to this advice from an unknown author.

For every hill I've had to climb,

For every stone that bruised my feet,

For all the blood and sweat and grime,

For blinding storms and burning heat,

My heart sings but a grateful song-

These were the things that made me strong.

For all the heartaches and the tears,

For all the anguish and the pain,

For gloomy days and fruitless years,

And for the hopes that lived in vain,

I do give thanks, for now I know

These were the things that helped me grow.

Amen
